I've heard a lot of good things about the slasher horror film
Hatchet. For one the movie made Harry's top ten list over at
AICN, and sites like
Bloody Disgusting have been raving about it for quite some time. The movie which is described as being "Old School American Horror" follows a group of tourists on a New Orleans haunted swamp tour who find themselves trapped in the wilderness, their fun vacation turning into an absolute nightmare! The old adage of "less is more" is clearly at play here and although I would have liked it maybe if they had put slightly more shots from the movie into it, I still think it's pretty affective. It builds a great atmosphere and leaves you wanting to know more about the flick... so it did it's job compared to so many trailers that have quick cuts giving away the whole frikin' film. Just checked up IMDB, another reason to see the film is that both
Kane Hodder and
Robert Englund are listed for roles. Hodder played the role of Jason in many
Friday the 13th movies and of course Englund is Freddy Krueger! Hatchet gets a theatrical release in September after it played around festivals across the world last year. source -
