Hayden Christensen BACK As Anakin Skywalker?!

What Anakin's return could mean to the Disney+ Obi-Wan show...

We've just felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror... Because Hayden Christensen might be back playing Anakin Skywalker... or Darth Vader. Or possibly both.

The rumour comes courtesy of LRM Online, who say that Christensen could make his long-awaited (depending on how your lightsaber lies) return to the Star Wars universe on screen in Disney+'s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Last seen completing Anakin Skywalker's fall to darkness and lava in the third of George Lucas' prequels, Christensen hasn't been back since, despite the obvious value there would have been in him popping back to tell his grandson that following his legacy was a chump's errand or something.

LRM Online say that Christensen is in talks to return as Anakin, suggesting that we're probably going to see some Clone Wars flashbacks (and why not, given the success of the recently ended show?). After all, if he was just going to be playing Darth Vader, it would be entirely pointless bringing Christensen back simply to slap him under a helmet with someone else's voice.

Given Obi-Wan's extended isolation and the potential for rumination over his relationship with Anakin (which bordered on open, reciprocated disdain rather than the love we were all lied to about), him thinking back to where it all went wrong with his young charge would make sense.

The show's production is currently delayed, of course, but by the time it returns, we might have more on this. What do you think?
