Hellboy vs. Frankenstein? - Could happen!

hbost5.jpgIGN FilmForce have got some quotes from a very interesting conversation that took place with director Guillermo Del Toro about the status of Hellboy 2. As we know, Hellboy has changed studio's from Columbia Pictures to Universal, the home of the famous cinematic monsters and it's of that subject which Del Toro touched on briefly... "I must say that I'm having a great experience right now at Universal, because I find that their understanding of Hellboy as a possibility is so great. My hope is that if everything goes well and we continue , Hellboy can start fighting the Universal monsters! I would love to see that". Awesome, I can't help but get exicted about the prospect of seeing Hellboy battle Frankenstein, Dracula or The Wolf Man. I wasn't a fan of the first movie as I've mentioned before, but I thought it was extremely well directed but just not my cup of tea. However if this pans out then i will be seeing the damn movie on opening night! One of my biggest cinematic disapointments of recent times was Van Helsing, which did something similar but used crappy CGI for all the monsters. That movie on paper...casting wise (apart from the guy who played Dracula), story wise (not script) and character wise was like my cinematic wet dream of a movie but sadly the finished product was horrible. I would love to see what Del Toro would do with the monsters, I have a feeling he would churn out a hell of a film. source - ign filmforce, dark horizons
