Hideous poster for The Hunting Party

Man what a horrible poster. This is the first I've heard of The Hunting Party, the latest film from The Matador director Richard Shepard. The movie is based on an Esquire magazine article about three journalists who attempt to capture a Bosnian war criminal by themselves but things of course don't go to plan and they get mistaken for being a CIA hit squad. The hunter then becomes the hunted, as they are chased by the guy they were trying to track down. Sounds like a cool concept and everything and the cast is pretty cool... Richard Gere, Terrence Howard, Diane Kruger, Jesse Eisenberg and James Brolin it's just this poster below really, really sucks. It's an awful photshop job on the two actors and what the hell is with that bright orange background? The trailer for the movie has been up on the web for a few weeks now but it must have been a quiet announcement as I've only just stumbled across it now. The flick looks really good actually and I'm surprised it's not getting a more aggressive marketing campaign although with this kind of poster... it's clear the guys behind promoting this flick are incompetent.

Look for this to open early September in a limited release before spreading out wider over the course of the month. For those in the U.K, it's November when we can see the movie. source - cinematical
