4. The Sanderson Sisters Steal The Show

It won't surprise anyone to learn that the best thing about Hocus Pocus 2 is the Sanderson sisters, because for all of the script's issues, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy step back into the roles of Winnie, Sarah, and Mary with absolute ease.

The trio haven't missed a single step, especially Midler, who at 76 years of age continues to be a show-stealing presence and elevates every single scene she's in.

While it's a shame they're absent from basically the entire first act of the movie, once they show up they inject proceedings with an agreeably manic energy, and absolutely can't be faulted for their committed efforts.

And ultimately, it's their work which prevents Hocus Pocus 2 from being a truly crushing letdown. If you're largely here for more silly Sanderson shenanigans, the film often delivers in that regard.
