Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff has been in the MCU since 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron (or, if you count post-credits scenes, since 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier), but it wasn't until the start of 2021 that she properly took on the mantle of Scarlet Witch - with a kick-ass costume to boot.

The closing episode of WandaVision introduced that costume in all its devilish glory, and behind-the-scenes, it was created with great care, to make sure that it perfectly suited Olsen's needs.

Series director Matt Shakman touched on this process during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, describing the very first time that Olsen put the costume on.

"She is so practical. I love her. She is so practical that she immediately put it on and she was like, 'OK, I can do this move and I can't do this move. And I need to be able to do this move.' We were like, 'Great!'"

Shakman also added that the costume team had to go back and re-engineer the outfit, based on Olsen's feedback. After practicing the dark arts for a good six years now, the actress clearly knows her stuff!

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
