It’s widely accepted that the first two Netflix/Marvel series out the gate – Daredevil and Jessica Jones – were the most popular among audiences. So, while it’s easy to see how those two characters could easily transition to Disney+ and the MCU in their own standalone series, Danny Rand and Luke Cage might not fare so well unless part of a team.

Conveniently, the pair teamed up in the comics to create Heroes for Hire, a small business licensed by the state of New York that offered professional investigation and protection services. Heroes for Hire is possibly the smartest way to introduce Luke Cage and Iron Fist into the MCU.

Rand and Cage have served as permanent members of the team, with other Marvel favourites joining missions when their specific skillset was needed. The likes of She-Hulk, Ant-Man, Deadpool, Black Knight and even Jessica Jones have been part of the Heroes for Hire team.

While they mostly fought small-scale villains across New York City – such as Sabretooth, Bushmaster, and the Maggia - this could serve as a perfect opportunity for Marvel to introduce some lesser-known characters into the fold.
