How Mortal Kombat 2021 Gets EVERYTHING Wrong
5. Mortal Kombat 1995 Has Better Fight Editing

Onto editing, and again if we're talking about overdone Hollywood tropes that no one actually likes, it's the insanely annoying "fast-cut" editing technique that accompanies far too many big budget action movies.
So many top tier films see the editing side of things fly off the handle when a fight breaks out, as if simply adding "more camera angles!" translates into the enjoyment of seeing martial artists work their craft.
Seriously, when you've got an insanely capable cast - headlined by The Raid star Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero - cutting around his movements and diluting his abilities is a travesty.
Not one actual fight between two people is memorable because of this "style" of editing, and while you might remember who went up against who, I guarantee not a single punch or kick thrown stuck with you.
