It, or It: Chapter One if you will, is a supernatural horror story released in 2017 and based on the novel written by Stephen King in 1986. Directed by Andy Muschietti this release is his take on the novel previously adapted by Tommy Lee Wallace into a 1990's mini series.

This 2017 release stars the supernatural dancing clown played by Bill Skarsgard terrorising the local children, manifesting as their worst nightmares to feed on their fear and take them to its lair, after which they are never to be seen again. As if clowns weren't already bad enough.

At the box office the film performed exceptionally, grossing $700 million to make it the highest grossing horror movie of all time and the fourth highest R rated movie. Critics praised performances, winning 7 awards and being nominated for 43 more, and the film's sequel - Chapter Two - will release later this year.
