Howard says IRON MAN 2 sacking was "the surprise of a lifetime"

Terrence Howard has spoke for the first time in response to last week's shocking announcement that he was to be dropped from the IRON MAN sequel because of his pay demands, his character of Col. Jim Rhodes replaced with Don Cheadle. Speaking to NPR, he called the decision "the surprise of a lifetime".Speaking to NPR, he called the decision "the surprise of a lifetime".

"It was the surprise of a lifetime," he said. "There was no explanation. just...up and vanished. I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren't worth the paper that they're printed on, sometimes. Promises aren't kept, and good faith negotiations aren't always held up."
Interestingly, there is no denial from the actor that he was hunting out for more cash but it sure seems like the second chance that Jon Favreau got when he asked for a pay increase wasn't given to Howard on this occasion. So far, Marvel, Robert Downey Jr and Jon Favreau have yet to publicly talk about the situation. source - chud via - coming soon
