AICN are reporting that
Hugo Weaving will be voicing Megatron in the
Transformers movie. Ok, so the guy's got a killer voice and all but isn't the casting just a little obvious? He is already synonymous with Agent Smith, Elrond from
Lord of the Rings and V from
V for Vendetta. The question is, when I'm watching the Transformers and hearing that big robot speak will I be thinking... "Oh that's Hugo Weaving" or will I be thinking "Oh that's Optimus Prime". I know if it was
Frank Welker voicing as previously reported, I would have been thinking the latter. source -
