The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - 21 Distracting Revelations That Almost Ruin It

9. They Should Have Killed Lenny Kravitz

Kravitz Lenny Kravitz' fashion based rebellion is a high point in the film, as it reinforces the message of Katniss' defiance, but it's a little silly in that it gets him a rather savage looking beating, after which he is hauled away just as Katniss is sucked up into the tube that takes her into the game arena. Outraged, the audience are fed this shot as the catalyst to really get behind the heroine, but it would have been infinitely more effective if Cinna had been killed on screen, giving Katniss a real reason for her burning vengeance.

8. Toby Jones Was Badly Screwed By The Edit

Toby Remember when it was revealed that Toby Jones would be playing Claudius Templesmith, the legendary Hunger Games commentator? It was a good decision considering how odd Jones looks, but he hardly has the necessary booming voice of the books (given that he was cast as Dobby in Harry Potter) and it seems the editors of Catching Fire realised their error. Because in Catching Fire, Jones appears for all of about 12 seconds, laughing at Caesar's (Stanley Tucci) jokes, who has clearly been promoted to undermine Claudius' key role in the games entirely, thanks to the appeal of Tucci's performance, perhaps. And not only that...

7. He Was Also OutDone By Stanley Tucci's Teeth

Caesar Given how shiny and satirical Tucci's teeth are, it's no surprise that they are far more important a star of the film than Jones.
