Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 - 10 Reasons It Sucks (And 2 It Doesn't)

5. Poor Pacing

Further to the point that there's about half a movie of decent material here, Mockingjay Part 1 is also sluggishly paced to the point that even self-confessed obsessives may find themselves becoming fidgety and exhausted. The opening act feels especially slow, with numerous, lengthy scenes of Katniss walking around and not doing very much except helping to pad the run-time out. Occasionally the pacing ramps up slightly with a pleasant burst of action or a dialogue of consequence, but on the whole, it's a painfully distended package that barely hides the fact it's totally dragging its feet throughout.
