20 Upcoming Movies That Have Already WON

19. Avengers: Doomsday

Now, there are in fairness many reasons why Avengers: Doomsday could fail to meet audience expectations.

Perhaps it'll simply struggle to match the fan-serving glee of Avengers: Endgame, maybe Robert Downey Jr.'s casting as Doom will be a big ol' flop, or the film will just be an exhausting, overstuffed mess.

But one thing Doomsday categorically won't be is a box office flop - which, obviously, is what matters most to Disney.

The much-anticipated sequel has already amassed around $100 million in presales, and current tracking estimates a global opening of around $1 billion, which would easily propel the film into profitability with its reported $400 million budget.

While word of mouth is ultimately what will determine how leggy Doomsday's box office performance is, it's basically mathematically impossible for the film to not be a commercial success at this point.

And if it actually turns out great, then it'll break a whole ton of records.
