BIG SPOILERS FOR 28 WEEKS LATER, PLEASE DON'T READ ON IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE FILM. SKIP TO NEXT ARTICLE... You all remember how 28 Weeks Later ended right? It hinted towards the infection traveling oversea's to France and we all expected 28 Months Later to focus around the invasion of the virus to Paris. That doesn't actually seem to be the plan at all. IF the sequel gets made (seriously guys, you guy out and buy those DVD's so this can get made) Danny Boyle's idea is not to deal with France just yet but actually another country entirely. The following comes from an Interview Boyle had with Slash Film...
Its to do with Russia actually. Its to do with that part of the world. NOT FRANCE. The second film hints that it gets to France eventually, and wipes out the French. But this third idea is actually more to do with Russia, but thats actually all I can say, said Boyle. I dont know whether it will happen.Although it's a bit of a shame it won't be in Paris (as I think that could potentially be a great atmosphere for this thing) I'm still highly anticipating the flick if it's set in Russia. I still think there's so much life left in this series and it could go a good number of films yet. Would Danny Boyle return for a third film? My understanding is that the only reason he didn't shoot 28 Weeks Later is because of conflicts with him shooting Sunshine and when he did become available for second unit... he actually contributed quite a bit. This is strickly me speaking here but I think if 28 Months Later does happen... Boyle will helm it.
