Incredible IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS footage!

Not strictly a teaser trailer, more like a behind-the-scenes sneak preview but this is still well worth your time and effort. I repeat WELL WORTH YOUR TIME AND EFFORT, don't skip it! Terry Gilliam's next epic fantasy film THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS will officially mark the last outing for Heath Ledger who died some weeks into filming earlier this year. After a small disruption to the shoot, he was replaced by Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell who if I remember rightly, all agreed to defer pay on the film to various charities that Ledger supported.

The trailer thingy is below. The movie has so many fantastic elements and shots, it's just impossible to take it all in. And then when Terry Gilliam runs down the plot details, well it sounds way more exciting than it ever did in print. So I will let him tell you what's it's about. To me this looks like Gilliam tributing Gilliam (i.e. - all the best stuff of his career seems to have made his way into this movie)... Rarely do you see movies on such an epic scope as this. The more I see this, the more I wish that Gilliam had been given the reigns on PRINCE OF PERSIA... or gets the SINBAD property to work on. And that's coming from someone who is not much of a Gilliam fan but this looks great. Chris Plummer, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Tom Waits make up the rest of the main cast, with the movie due out in the first half of 2009. source - film school rejects
