Inglourious Basterds: 10 Things That Would Have Happened Afterwards
4. In 1974, Operation Kino Is Unveiled To The Public
30 years after Operation Kino has remained guarded under the official secrets act, the US and British governments - under the "thirty-year rule" - would have collectively unveiled a series of documents outlining the top secret mission that resulted in the deaths of the German high command, revealing everyone's involvement in the mission. As a result, Aldo Raine, Ed Fenech, Smithson "The Little Man" Utivich (amongst others) - all now very old - would arguably wind up being celebrated as the greatest heroes ever. Certain details, however - such as the Hans Landa deal - would have been left out or changed. There would be no mention of Landa's conversation with the OSS on the night of Hitler's death, for example, as it would probably never have been officially recorded. Shosanna's story would be absent too, because no one other than Marcel was actually aware of her involvement (and he is nowhere to be found, having disappeared).
