Inside Out: 22 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Need To See

3. Ted's Legs Are In Dream Productions

The whole Dream Productions sequence in Inside Out is incredibly restrained - there was ample opportunity for lots of meta production jokes and background teases, but Docter wisely kept it focused on the characters. It's not completely lacking in Easter eggs, although this one's so obscure you'll be forgiven for not spotting it. At the end of the main strip of the studio, on the right, are a pair of giant monster legs that look incredibly like those of Ted's, the giant beast Mike and Sully meet on the way to work in Monsters, Inc. The Ted scene got a shout-out in that movie's credits (with Toy Story's Rex auditioning for the part), so it's likely director Pete Docter has a soft spot for it, making its inclusion here even more satisfying.
