Interstellar: 10 Big Questions You Still Have

7. Where Is This New Solar System?

The Endurance takes our heroes through the wormhole to a brand new, visually striking solar system. A set of planets orbiting small (and therefore it is assumed stable) black hole, the space dilation of the wormhole means there's no way to know where in the universe these new worlds are. No doubt an astronomer could look at the star patterns and present a solid argument for some location, but until that happens there's little to go on. So what do we know? Water is in high abundance, much more than in our home (there's only one planet where it's entirely prominent, compared to at least three here), but that's hardly geographical. Potential Answer: There's nothing to suggest anything other than it not being our own galaxy. Beyond that it's guesswork based on nothing concrete. In fact, it seems that even NASA themselves don't know where the astronauts are heading. Humanity clearly figures it out though; once they evolve into five-dimensional beings they're able to transport us there.
