5. The Death Of Tony Stark
It might seem a strange suggestion, but a significant number of fans do want a send-off for Iron Man - and specifically one that comes in his own film and not simply as a sub-plot of an Avengers movie. And what better way to say goodbye than to kill him off - marking the completion, finally, of his development from egotistical narcissist to selfless hero.
Will It Happen?
It's probably touch and go: if Downey Jr continues on his trajectory of asking for as much money as he likes, he'll be entirely unaffordable sooner rather than later. And killing him off would be a great way of ensuring his wage is no longer a problem.
Symbolically too, the removal of Tony Stark from the MCU would be a hell of a gesture to keep him from having over future Phases ominously. As long as he's alive he's able to come back, and that much will represent an unnecessary distraction for future new characters and properties.
And narratively it would be a hell of a statement too.
