12. The Rotting Leper

It Leper
Warner Bros.

When Eddie is walking home one day, he passes Neibolt Street and encounters Pennywise as he takes the form of a rotting leper, because of Eddie's pathological fear of germs.

A deeply unsettling combination of CGI and live-action, the part of the leper is played by Javier Botet, who suffers with Marfan syndrome, which gives him a uniquely gangling appearance and has allowed him to play numerous creatures in horror movies, including Muschietti's own Mama.

The leper is an utterly grotesque creation, and even if you're not remotely as germaphobic as Eddie, it's hard not to feel rather ill when the leper shows up.
