Jack Reacher: Check Out 22 New Images From Tom Cruise's Latest

Following its UK premiere on Monday, Paramount Pictures have released 22 brand new images from Tom Cruise's latest starring vehicle, Jack Reacher. Based on the Lee Child character and the 9th novel in his Jack Reacher series, One Shot - the film opens on December 21st (US) and December 26th (UK) and has drawn a significant amount of attention from fans who when Cruise was first cast, were mystified and outraged at how a 5 foot 7 actor could justifiably play a character that as written is 6 foot 5. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, a screenwriter by trade behind Cruise's Valkyrie, The Usual Suspects and for his work on the X-Men franchise, here helming his first movie since The Way of the Gun - Reacher also stars Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, Alexia Fast, Robert Duvall, Jai Courtney, and Werner Herzog. Written by Josh Olson and McQuarrie, all involved hope Reacher can gain a large amount of Cruise's following from his more famous action hero Ethan Hunt, to create a brand new blockbuster franchise. You can check out the 22 new stills along with the already released images from the film, in our gallery below; Paramount's updated official synopsis for the film is below and do remember to keep checking WhatCulture imminently for our review of the film.
From The New York Times bestselling author Lee Child comes one of the most compelling heroes to step from novel to screen - ex-military investigator Jack Reacher (Cruise). When a gunman takes five lives in what seems like an open and shut murder case, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: €œGet Jack Reacher!€ So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence, a secret to keep and a target on Reacher€™s back.
