Jackson nabs Serkis for TINTIN

Variety don't know which character he will be voicing (he's versatile, so really it's take your pick) but they do mention it won't be the part of TINTIN. Still no word yet on which director will be shooting their movie first or indeed who will be directing the final part of the trilogy (my money is on Robert Zemeckis) but we do now have a start date, and it's in September. Serkis in probably a career-defining role brought terrific life to the CGI characters Gollum in LORD OF THE RINGS and the big ape KING KONG and he's the only actor Jackson seems comfortable working with more than once. Both parts relied on some great voice work as well as the much praised physical performance of the actor, which he also put to good measure in the animated feature FLUSHED AWAY. In related news, Moviehole recently spoke with Brian Howe (short roles in THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS and DEJA VU) about his T.V. show JOURNEYMAN when surprisingly the topic of TINTIN came up. Sounding like he wanted to get his name out there, Howe announced that he had auditioned for a role in his 'dream picture', and is anxious to hear back on how well he did. I would expect more news on this film as Jackson and Spielberg work early 2008 on their current movies INDIANA JONES and THE LOVELY BONES.
