James Bond: 10 Awesome Gadgets That Would Never Work In Real Life

4. Wrist Darts

WristDart Straight from Q branch, this mechanism attaches to your wrist like a watch. Upon flicking your wrist, the device will fire either an armor piercing dart or a cyanide tipped one. The device fits discreetly under the sleeve of a shirt or jacket, and to the untrained eye you seem unarmed. Obviously as far as discreetness, effectiveness, and technology the wrist dart mechanism seems like a must for any modern spy. However, given that the technology basically dictates off your movements, after some thought the dart gun actually seems kind of flawed if you take into account safety, and accuracy. When first receiving the device, Bond immediately fired it at a wall in M's office by mistake mainly for comedic purposes. Surely this motion detection technology isn't foolproof, and you could easily mistakenly fire it just like Bond did at first? All it would take is one false movement to shoot the wrong person, or possibly yourself. That's not exactly ideal when cyanide tipped darts are concerned. Another major flaw is accuracy. With no scope or real accuracy measures, hitting your target is mostly a pipedream, making its offensive capabilities rather low. After all, we can't all be as lucky as Commander Bond.
