James Bond: 10 Best Weapons In The 007 Movies

2. Industrial Laser - Goldfinger

The fancy hat wasn't the most iconic weapon in Goldfinger though. That honour goes to the gold-cutting laser that almost took away one of Bond's most famous assets.

After James is captured following a car chase, he's strapped to a table by Auric Goldfinger during which time he turns on an industrial laser beam capable of cutting through solid gold. It goes up between his legs and threatens to take away his manhood before cutting the rest of him in two. This happens for no reason except Goldfinger wants Bond to suffer and die, and only stops after 007 outwits him.

The laser featured in one of the most memorable scenes in the whole franchise, and it's a moment that has been parodied to death from YouTubers online to The Simpsons. Goldfinger is often referred to as the peak of the franchise, with this moment playing a large part as to why it's held in such high regard.

It was also very dangerous to film as there was indeed metal being cut under Sean Connery and it came worryingly close to causing serious harm between his legs.
