James Bond: 10 Biggest Fashion Disasters

8. The Plaid Sports Jacket (The Man With The Golden Gun)

Now for all his fashion crimes, Roger Moore can pull off a safari suit. His little number in The Man With The Golden Gun is stylish, lightweight and suits him to a tee. Villain Scaramanga, played with urbane charm by Christopher Lee, also cuts a dash in his white number. Heck, even Nick-Nack looks good. Alas, when Bond does come a cropper he really comes a cropper, in a sports coat that even Colin Baker might have baulked at. The number in question makes its appearance when Bond tracks down Scaramanga to his secret island. Perhaps the jacket is from Q branch, the bright red checks overlaid acting as a distraction, stunning the enemy's optic nerve long enough for Bond to shoot first? Maybe not - when the pair do have their iconic duel, the sports jacket is nowhere to be seen. Is this because it was too hot or did Scaramanga get Nick-Nack to spirit the offending garment away to help power his complex with the coat's radioactive checks?
