James Bond: 10 Bond Girls Who Became Massive Stars

6. Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton's career wasn't perhaps comparatively buoyed by the Bond film series - after all, she had begun to make a name for herself, taking in roles such as the dynamic schoolgirl Kelly in the St. Trinians reboot and the Guy Ritchie comedy Rocknrolla. However, her international standing received a significant boost when she won the role of Strawberry Fields, an MI6 agent assigned to look after Bond in Bolivia, in Quantum of Solace. Immediately following her role as Agent Fields, Arterton attempted to transform herself into a mainstream action heroine, with supporting roles in the adventures Clash Of The Titans and Prince Of Persia, before changing gears and becoming a more unusual actor with roles such as a vampiric mother in Byzantium and the titular role in the excellent thriller The Disappearance Of Alice Creed. Compared to where she could end up, Arterton's career is only really beginning to take off - she's currently taking on feminism in the stage adaptation of Made In Dagenham - and it'll be exciting to see just where she decides to go next.
