James Bond: 10 Potential Spin-Offs And How They Would Work
9. 006 & 007
Okay, so this one is a total pipe dream, but the idea is so appealing that it had to be included. Some of the most engaging and downright entertaining chemistry across the entire twenty-six film franchise existed between 007 and 006, James Bond and Alec Trevelyan. At the time, these characters were portrayed by Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean, seen in the 1995 movie GoldenEye.
In the film, Trevelyan is the primary antagonist, a former double-oh agent who betrays MI6 during a mission to blow up the Arkhangelsk chemical weapons facility in the Soviet Union. It's established near the beginning that 006 and 007 are close friends with a storied history, with Bond even lamenting to M after the mission that he feels responsible for Trevelyan's death.
Since this is the film in which Brosnan as Bond is first introduced, we accept their past friendship willingly. But how awesome would it be to see a Bond film that focuses on a spy duo rather than a single hero?
What about the adventures of 006 and 007? Okay, so Brosnan and Bean might be a bit too old to portray earlier versions of themselves (though I'm sure most would go along with it regardless), but even if two younger actors were have a crack at it it could still be decent. What about the kid who plays a young Ned Stark in Game Of Thrones?
The film would see Bond and Trevelyan teaming up on missions, coordinating their operation and backing each other up in combat, bringing a different dynamic to proceedings. Bond has always been known as a lone, inscrutable killer, but seeing him partnered up would be a totally fresh dynamic.
