Having massively split opinion during his appearance in 2016’s Suicide Squad, it appears that Jared Leto is once more set to play the Crown Prince of Crime.

Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, Leto’s Joker is to be a part of the reshoots being undertaken for the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League.

Titled simply Zack Snyder’s Justice League, HBO Max is financing a new version of Justice League which will allow director Snyder to fully deliver the version of the 2017 movie that he had originally envisioned.

Tragically, Snyder had to step back from Justice League mid-way through production due to the death of his daughter. From there, Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the film – although Whedon’s input meant that the movie differed to what Snyder had intended for the picture.

Currently, Justice League reshoots are taking place featuring Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Amber Heard, and now it’s said that Leto’s Jester of Genocide will also be a part of these reshoots.

While the ongoing reshoots were previously to flesh out the stories of the film’s existing characters or take certain arcs in a slightly different direction, the inclusion of Leto here is a massive deal as The Joker didn’t appear at all in Justice League’s original release.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will air as four one-hour offerings on HBO Max at some point in 2021.
