Jay Roach is demanding a Recount?

Strange, strange, strange. Sydney Pollack, the director of The Interpreter has been replaced on the factual political drama Recount by... wait for it... Austin Powers & Meet the Parents helmer Jay Roach! What?

The movie that you won't see in cinema's (as it's going to premiere on HBO) follow that famous Florida recount from Election Day through the Supreme Court€™s ruling in favour of George W. Bush five weeks later and of course the Western world has been stuck with him ever since.
The drama is said to focus on the human interest aspect of the story and even more bizarrely than Jay Roach, let's take a look at who wrote the damn thing! According to IMDB, it's Danny Strong... the actor who played that geeky kid Jonathan in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in what's his first ever script... Bizarre isn't it? So with Roach on board (who has never directed anything but a comedy) and a first time script from a bit part actor, either this has changed to a laugh-out-loud comedy about the election or this is one disaster in the making. source - moviehole
