Remember yesterday, I said that I wasn't sure which genre between Comedy and Horror produced the most remakes, sequels or rip offs? Well for those counting, we can add another comedy remake to that ever growing list.
Variety are reporting that
Jennifer Garner will lead a remake of the 1945 festive classic
Christmas in Connecticut for Warner Brothers. More info from the trade...
The original storyline revolves around a cooking writer -- the Martha Stewart of her time -- whom the world believes to be living on a cozy farm in Connecticut with her husband and baby. In reality, she's a single woman living on her own in New York. The ruse is discovered when a holiday meal is planned at her fake farm. The remake will see her re-team with the producers of
13 Going on 30, which itself was a rip-off of tons of past comedy movies such as
Big and
Freaky Friday. Her performance in the recently released
Catch and Release isn't going down too well and that comes after a two year hiatus from her flop superhero flick
Elektra. Question has to be asked.... Can she really lead a successful movie? source -
