Jenny Agutter is Wrong... Spider-Man is Not In The Avengers Film

Sorry guys, Agutter probably isn't much of a comic book fan and she has just got her characters mixed up.

Logan's Run actress Jenny Agutter has apparently told Radio Times that there was a set trailer for 'Spider-Man' stationed close to the 'Iron Man' trailer during filming on Joss Whedon's upcoming The Avengers film, where Agutter has a small role.
"I'm sworn to secrecy... I wasn't allowed a script until I got there, and when I did, I felt like a complete child being on big sets and a huge parking lot full of Winnebagos."
This has seemingly kicked off a rumour from those who should know better saying that Spider-Man is to make a cameo appearance in The Avengers film. Though of course this simply ain't possible because Sony Pictures own the rights to Spider-Man on film from a deal struck with Marvel in the '90's (their fourth feature The Amazing Spider-Man opens in June as I'm sure you know!) and Disney/Marvel own the characters in The Avengers on film. So if Disney/Marvel really did place Spider-Man in The Avengers this summer then they would have a lawsuit so big it would probably diminish any profits they made! Sorry guys, Agutter probably isn't much of a comic book fan and she has just got her characters mixed up. She's almost the same age as my mum and she makes the same mistake all the time. She probably meant Captain America... The Avengers will arrive in cinemas worldwide on May 4, 2012 and it won't have Peter Parker/Spider-Man! But you can see him in The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans that opens July 3rd, 2012.
