Jesse Eisenberg's First Image As Lex Luthor From Batman V Superman

Exactly a year ahead of the release of the hugely-anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which sees the two iconic superheroes finally going head-to-head, comes the first look reveal of the film's villain - Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. And, well, he looks exactly like you'd expect... like the guy from The Social Network as a young, bald man. Warner Bros. released the image to Entertainment Weekly, putting an end to months and months of speculation as to just how foically challenged Luthor would be this time around. Here's Lex in all his glory;

Zack Snyder, who also directed Man Of Steel (of which this film is part sequel/part spin-off) said the following about his villainous antagonist;

He€™s not any of the Lexes that you€™ve seen, that€™s for sure [...] Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course€.Our Lex is disarming and he€™s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what€™s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it€™s all there.€

Luthor has of course previously been portrayed by Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey and it will be interesting to see how Eisenberg compares given that he's not particularly much like those men who were both established, elder statesman of cinema when they won their parts as Superman's biggest baddie. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for a March 25th, 2016 release date and stars Ben Affleck (as Batman), Henry Cavill (as Superman), Gal Gadot (as Wonder Woman) and Jesse Eisenberg (as Lex Luthor).
