1. Walter Sparrow - The Number 23
Nothing else was ever in danger of reaching the #1 spot. Jim Carrey re-teamed with Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher for The Number 23, a dire, mind-meltingly idiotic movie that again attempted to position Carrey in a "serious" role, though this is one rare instance where the results were aggressively awful. It's all down to the script, which has its protagonist (Carrey) attempting to keep his grip on sanity as he becomes haunted by the number 23. It's not scary, it's just dull and irritating. Carrey takes the whole thing far too seriously, delivering an oddly committed performance, one that seems all the more ludicrous when the inane twist - that Carrey's character wrote the book all along - is revealed. Had Carrey resorted to his best mugging, this could have been an
intentional comedy rather than not. Which Jim Carrey films are your favourite? Care to try and defend The Number 23? Good luck, but let us know in the comments below.
