Jim Caviezel for Only in New York

caviezel-jim-photo-xl-jim-caviezel-6234132.jpgThe question of where do you go as an actor after you have played Jesus must surely be on the mind of Jim Caviezel. Depending on who you believe, his role in The Passion of the Christ stopped him from appearing as Superman as he was "too famous" and his post-Jesus career has seen him star in only one studio movie. Make no mistake though.... he is was incredible in Deja Vu. A great performance for what would have been handled by many others as a generic villain. With his little screen time, he got us to care about his character (I don't mean sympathetic care... I mean.... we care enough to hope his character gets a gruesome death). Caviezel is set to continue on his Indie path for Only in New York, a crime thriller from Catwoman (OH JESUS!!) director Pitof. Seriously, whose idea was it to give that director any money to make a movie??? From The Hollywood Reporter...
The script, written by Seth Zvi Rosenfeld and Geebee Dajani, follows a recently paroled street hustler looking for a new life and seeking redemption only to find his path blocked by the combustible melange of New York elements that once did him in.
I almost forget he was Jesus when watching Deja Vu, so if he keeps up the level of acting he delivered in that movie then it won't be too long until we see him take on many more studio movies. Of course, he is set to star in the Viking Sci-Fi movie Outlander later this year, alongside Ron Perlman and John Hurt.... and apparently has absolutely nothing to do with Highlander. source - the hollywood reporter
