John Carpenter begins casting his first film in seven years!

Six months and a day since it was first announced that Horror legend John Carpenter was to return to film-making after a six year absence, and we carry the news that casting has finally begun on his horror movie L.A. GOTHIC with shooting set to begin in March.

The horror movie setup at Principal Entertainment will be Carpenter's first flick in seven years, the biggest break between projects he has ever had in his career and personally, thank God his last film won't be GHOSTS OF MARS. L.A. GOTHIC follows five interwoven stories of extreme horror centering on a vengeful ex-priest and his efforts to protect his daughter from vampires, monsters, zombies and other supernatural evils from the dark side of Los Angeles. It comes from the writing duo of Sean Keller and Jim Agnew who just yesterday found Ray Liotta and Vincent Gallo cast in the project spawned from their script for GIALLO, which is said to be a love-letter to Dario Argento's 70's style of film-making which the Italian maestro liked so much he agreed to helm. Have the duo made the same kind of love letter for Carpenter's best work, and enticed him back into film after his self-exiled absence? Let's hope so because in the 80's John Carpenter was one of the best directors working in Hollywood and I would love to see him show the world that he can still 'get it up' and deliver something worthy in the 21st century. source - shock till you drop
