John Lennon biopic from the writer of CONTROL

Moving from Manchester born music icon, to a Liverpool legend.

British visual artist Sam Taylor Wood will helm a John Lennon biopic over at Ecosse Films. It's titled Nowhere Boy and was written by Control writer Matt Greenhalgh, focusing on Lennon's childhood, his friendship with Paul McCartney and his subsequent journey to the icon figure he became. Also the relationship with his mother and his aunt (who both fought for his love) will be a big part of the film.

"The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became," Taylor-Wood said, "and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film."
Filming will take place in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool with casting now under-way. Paul Rudd recently made a really unfunny and pointless cameo as Lennon in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and after movies involving the death of Lennon (The Killing of John Lennon), it's about time we saw a more positive film to remember Lennon by.

But who on Earth do you find to play him?
