John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum Review: 8 Ups & 2 Downs

1. It's The Best Film In The Trilogy

All things considered, John Wick 3 is the best film in the trilogy.

For some it may not be as refreshingly simple as the first film nor as startlingly unique as the second, but it is an extremely well-crafted distillation of everything presented to the audience in the prior movies - while suitably upping the stakes and technical craft.

The action, the character work and the world-building in particular ensure this film defies most cynical (yet justified) expectations of what an action movie threequel can be, serving as a rarest of third films that turns out the best of the lot.

There's sure to be plenty of disagreement between fans over how the three films truly stack up, but regardless of your own opinion, it's difficult to argue with this series' fierce dedication to constantly one-upping itself. Bravo.
