Jonathan Liebesman In Talks To Direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reboot

Jonathan Liebesman, the eye-candy over substance director of Battle: Los Angeles and who delivers Wrath of the Titans in theaters next month, has entered talks to direct the reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". First announced two years ago, Paramount, Nickelodeon and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes are developing the reboot they hope can spawn a live-action blockbuster franchise. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles started off as a black and white comic book series in 1984, but really hit the mainstream big with an uber popular animated series in 1987 that was a staple of many childhoods as it was shown regular on weekend mornings over the next decade. A cult favourite live-action film was released in 1990, which was followed by two live-action sequels, and further a live-action television series, another animated series and then a CGI feature film in 2007. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Urnzz-eXO8 Previously Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway were working on the script of the movie, but they were then replaced by Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol pair Josh Appelbaum and Andrew Nemec last year. Presumably Liebesman would bring his own writer to draft the movie to his liking. Since 2007, a live-action movie has been eyed and now they seem to have found a director to spearhead it to the big screen.
