2. Angel - "Through the Looking Glass": Dance The Dance Of Joy
This is easily one of the silliest, most irreverent and most bizarre things that Joss Whedon has ever put his name to. It's also, one of the most endearing and laugh-out-loud funniest you're ever likely to see. In the back end of the second season, Angel and his gang are sent to a different dimension, Pylea, the homeworld of fan favourite regular, karaoke king Lorne (the late, great Andy Hallett) and soon find themselves in a world of trouble. While there are certain highlights such as picking up traumatised new girl Fred, Cordelia becoming a literal queen and the others exploring this new land, when one character commands another to 'dance the dance of joy', it's a brilliantly cheesy moment that emphasizes Whedon's taste for comedy. The best thing of all? That's Whedon doing it, in the green makeup and weird yellow sackcloth clothes, doing all those ridiculous moves you can probably find on your nearest wedding dancefloor it's a brilliant, self-aware and irreverent moment in a show that was known for its darkness.
