Jude Law and
Forest Whitaker are set to work together for the first time in the futuristic sci-fi thriller
Repossession Mambo. The movie is being setup at Universal with a September start date planned says
The Hollywood Reporter.
Miguel Sapochnik, a one-time storyboard artist, will make his feature directorial debut on the film, which centers on a repo man made up of artificial organs who, after receiving a heart transplant, struggles to make payments and must go on the run from his former partner.
The script for the flick is written by
Eric Garcia (
Matchstick Men novel) and
Garrett Lerner (
House M.D.) How futuristic the film will be is currently unknown. I like the idea of one big chase movie set in a futuristic setting. Something like the chase scenes in
The Fugitive but in a sci-fi world could be a pretty cool idea. This is Whitaker's 8th movie we will see him in next year, talk about being a man in demand!
