Jumanji: The Next Level Review - 6 Ups & 4 Downs

4. The Ludicrous Action Sequences

Those who enjoyed the previous film's knowingly goofy action sequences should have plenty of fun with the shamelessly ridiculous, video game-y set-pieces on offer here.

The highlights include an early car chase against a fleet of angry ostriches, and also an Indiana Jones-inspired race across a series of rope bridges as hundreds of monkeys attack.

These sequences don't do anything you don't expect for a broad blockbuster vehicle such as this, but between the OTT nature of the action, the (mostly) solid visual effects, and the frazzled performances of the cast, they make for a fun, high-energy time.
