Jupiter Ascending: 8 Things You May Have Missed

1. Jupiter Actually Aligned With The Earth On The Movie's Release Date

One of the tabs on the Chicago-Wilmette Astronomers page talks about the physical alignment of the Sun, Earth and Jupiter on 6th February, the in-verse planned date of the harvest. This isn't fictitious (well, the harvest bit is) - the two planets and star did line up on that date. And here's where things get crazy; in the real world, it was also the date Jupiter Ascending was released. Moving the date from 25th July (a weekend ultimately taken by Lucy and Hercules) to 6th February was stated by Warner Bros. to allow for the plentiful special effects shots to be finished and a targeted marketing campaign to be crafted. While time may have been needed to build those, however, nobody could quite get their heads around moving it to the box office's graveyard month. Could this have been why? Were Warner Bros. going to play up the big link to an actual cosmic occurrence, but then chose not to, yet kept the date? If so, then they cocked up even more than we first realised. Were there any more easter eggs or references hidden in Jupiter Ascending? Share what you spotted down in the comments.
