Spielberg's decision to blend CGI seamlessly with practical effects perhaps pays off the most during the velociraptor chase sequence inside the park buildings - the realness of the dinosaur reflections really bring to life the threat faced by Tim and Lex as they hide for their lives. In addition to the DNA data reflected on the raptor's face, this sequence features another great easter egg referencing Stanley Kubrick's classic horror movie The Shining when Tim locks the velociraptor in the meat freezer and Alex tricks evades another by hiding in a metal cupboard and causing it to charge into her reflection. Both are direct nods to The Shining, mimicking how Wendy and Danny Torrance trick Jack when he goes on his psychotic rampage.
