Appeared In: The Lost World Photographer, activist, backup plan... Nick van Owen helped free the dinosaurs in Ludlow's camp - destroying their vital communications equipment in the process - and sabotaged Roland Tembo's ability to hunt and kill an adult Tyrannosaur, allowing for the dinosaur to be tranquilized instead and ultimately set free in San Diego. Despite fading out of the narrative by film's end, Nick, a "hero," inadvertently left a lot of wreckage in his wake, which makes him a far more interesting character in retrospect.
