Jurassic World: 17 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Need To See

17. The Cheeky Bird Reveal Is Actually Referencing The First Film

After the hatching of the Indominus Rexes at the very start of, the film cuts to what at first looks like a dinosaur claw, only to zoom out and reveal it's actually a bird. This is obviously a sly nod to the now accepted theory that dinosaurs are the ancestors of modern day birds, but also a smart comment on the passage of time between movies. In Jurassic Park Alan Grant was laughed at for subscribing to the then groundbreaking theory, so having this little joke up front is a nice reference to how attitudes have changed.
