5. It's A Safe Legacy Sequel That Takes No Risks

While few were expecting much in the way of daring storytelling from the sixth Jurassic Park movie, it is a shame just how much of a predictable, down-the-line, even generic "legacy sequel" Dominion truly is.

Sure, it's fun to see the O.G. cast back again and they have surprisingly substantial roles in the story, yet very little interesting is actually done with them or the Jurassic "mythology" as a whole.

Trevorrow regularly serves up imagery that mirrors the original Jurassic Park, but rarely in a clever or affecting way: it all feels like cheap, lazy fan service, and borders on fan-fiction with how it circles back to Alan (Sam Nell) and Ellie's (Laura Dern) prior romance.

Then there's the fact that Dominion is by far the most bloodless and least-brutal of all the Jurassic movies: barely any humans die on-screen at all, ensuring it feels utterly toothless compared to all prior films in the series.
