Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 20 WTF Moments
1. Totally Wasting J.A. Bayona's Talents
And finally, perhaps the most WTF thing about the entire movie? Hiring a talented filmmaker like J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible, A Monster Calls) and writing such trash material for him.
Bayona is a pro and does by far the best directing job of any Jurassic Park movie since The Lost World, ensuring that as idiotic as the movie is, it's at least stylish and mostly pleasant to look at.
A director of his calibre naturally invited expectations that Fallen Kingdom might be a cut above the rest - saying little though that is - and though he acquitted himself well regardless, he could certainly have turned in a Spielberg-worthy effort without Trevorrow's involvement.
