Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 9 Things That Must Happen

1. It Gets An R-Rating

Jurassic Park
Universal Pictures

Despite featuring scenes where people are eaten alive by dinosaurs, the Jurassic Park series has always retained a measure of family friendliness, which is one of the reasons it leaves such a hefty footprint at the box office.

But it's time for the franchise to take a risk by bringing us a darker, gritter instalment that appeals to the generation of fans who have grown up since the first movie wowed them with its ground-breaking CGI effects back in 1993.

Jurassic World clung to the Spielbergian sense of wonder the original peddled by the lorryload, but it's time to shake things up with horror elements and amped up suspense.

Although what we're describing here doesn't sound a great deal like the Jurassic Park movies, it would be in keeping with the tone of the late Michael Crichton's original novels, thus taking the franchise back to its roots.
