10. Steppenwolf Attacks Themyscira

Early on, Themyscira is attacked by Steppenwolf, who plans to steal the Mother Box that the Amazonians been guarding for thousands of years.

A chaotic battle ensues with Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons battling the Amazonians, all while Queen Hippolyta attempts to escape the temple with the Mother Box.

In one of the movie's coolest action beats, several Amazonian soldiers use giant hammers to collapse structural pillars keeping the temple's exit open, leaving just enough room for Hippolyta to scarcely escape before the door slams down forever.

After Steppenwolf smashes his way out of the temple, a desperate chase on horseback has the Amazonians desperately attaching the Mother Box to various arrows and firing it away from his vicinity, but eventually, his might is too much, and he gains possession of the box.

This prompts Hippolyta to light a warning beacon that only Diana will understand, bringing the League's attention to the theft.
